The album was recorded throughout 2010 with a long-time friend of the band, producer Dave Ogilvie. The band worked in a variety of studios to produce the record, including Hipposonic (formerly Mushroom Studios) as well as 604 Studios and the band's very own studio space, known as the Smiling Buddha Enjoyment Complex.

lyrics
This is The Way the World Ends
You know what they say
There’s just one way out but I ain’t going that way
And on that very day she came and took my spirit away
I could’ve had religion but I didn’t pray
Thank God for that
‘Cause if you ever loved that woman
You’d know what it is to feel pain
If you ever loved that woman
You be saying …”more pain”
You know what they say
About how love is gambled away
This is the way the world ends my friend
Staring upward at the sky
And all the planets and the entire void
And the universe is on the run

Sloan breaks absolutely NO new ground on their newest record. And I couldn't care less. Because when the songs are this good, nothing else matters.
